The South West Area Commission on Transportation will review projects slated for construction in the next statewide capital improvement package at its Friday, January 13 meeting held at the Coos County Annex (Owen Building), 201 N. Adams, in Coquille. The meeting begins at 10 a.m. and continues until noon. Public comment will follow the review of draft projects. The 2018-21 State Transportation Improvement Program features nearly $200 million in proposed projects in Coos, Curry and Douglas counties under the categories of Enhance, Preservation, Operations and Safety. Projects are available for review online: www.SouthwestOregonSTIP.org. The Statewide Transportation Improvement Program, known as the STIP, is Oregon’s four-year transportation capital improvement program. It is the document that identifies the funding for, and scheduling of, transportation projects and programs. It includes projects on the federal, state, city, and county transportation systems, multimodal projects (highway, passenger rail, freight, public transit, bicycle and pedestrian), and projects in the National Parks, National Forests, and Indian tribal lands. ODOT attempts to hold all public meetings in accessible buildings. Accommodations will be provided to persons with disabilities, and alternate formats of printed material are available upon request. Please call Christie Meacham at (541) 957-3698 at least 48 hours prior to the meeting (or use statewide relay 7-1-1).
