The Coos County OSU Extension Master Food Preserver volunteers are excited to help you get in a valentine mood as they present a chocolate tasting workshop, “The Sweet Seduction of Chocolate” on Saturday, January 14, from 10 am to 2 pm. Taught by Registered Dietitian Stephanie Polizzi and Master Food Preservers, the class will cover the history of chocolate, health benefits, and some things to watch out for when buying and consuming chocolate. Participants will enjoy tasting a wide array of locally-available chocolate, to awaken their senses and please their palates. They’ll also learn how to get the most out of a small amount of fine chocolate and enjoy other chocolate treats made by the Master Food Preservers. The class will be held at the Coos County Extension Service in Myrtle Point. Cost is $10, and space is limited so phone registration is recommended. Call 541-572-5263, ext. 25292 to reserve a seat.
