Southwestern Oregon fell in the championship game of the Coach Tregs Classic men’s basketball tournament in Eureka, CA Sunday to the host team, College of the Redwoods, 94-90. The Lakers were led by D’Vante Howard who scored 21. On Saturday, SWOCC beat William Jessup JV 86-74. Dexter Williams had 22. On Friday, Southwestern opened the tourney with a 100-58 win over Simpson JV. DJ Anderson scored 21. The Lakers (6-2) play at the Dale Bates Classic at Lane in Eugene this Friday through Sunday. The Laker women went 3-0 at Eureka. On Friday, SWOCC beat Simpson College JV 62-47. Aminata Cole scored 19. Cole and Kyla Siri each scored 20. On Saturday, Southwestern handed Merritt College an 83-71 loss. On Sunday, the Lakers beat College of the Redwoods 71-56. Siri with 17. SWOCC (8-2) goes to the Santa Rosa, CA tournament this weekend.
