It was a sunny day for Prefontaine Masters and Open Track Meet Saturday in Coos Bay. The SWOCC women Jumpers had several great jumps, according to Coach Dan Neal. Talisha Dozier had an outstanding effort in the Women’s Long Jump going 18’ 3 ¾ “. Katie Pitts had a personal best in the event at 16’ 11 ½ “. Hannah Smith from Bandon also had a great jump at 16’ 9 ¼ “. In the Triple Jump Katie Pitts had a huge improvement in the event jumping 36’ 2” and Hannah Smith jumped a 34’ even just a few inches from the NWAC qualifying standard. Rachael Huffman won javelin at 124’ 6” and had a personal best in the shot put at 39’ 5” and took first in the Javelin at 119’ 9”. Brooks Ney won the Men’s 110 High Hurdles at 15. 24 and Riley greenfield won the High Jump at 6’ 0”. Wilson Hodge from Coquille had a personal best in the Shot Put at 43’ 5” and was 3rd in discus at 126’ 3”. Kiante Davis had a personal best in Javelin to win the event at 168’ 0”. The Lakers will travel to Southern Oregon University in Ashland this weekend to compete in the Ribbon Cutting Meet of their new track.
