Southwestern Oregon’s baseball team split an NWAC baseball doubleheader with visiting Umpqua CC Thursday on campus at Coos Bay. Umpqua took the first game 3-2, but the Lakers (10-8, 17-11) won the second 3-0. The two will play again on Saturday at Coos Bay, 1 & 4 p.m. Southwestern Oregon’s softball team has a crossover tournament this weekend at Yakima, WA. The Lakers will take on Yakima Valley Saturday (tba), followed by Pierce at 3 p.m. On Sunday, SWOCC plays Walla Walla at 9 a.m., and Big Bend at 11:30 a.m. Southwestern’s track team hosts the Steve Prefontaine Classic on Saturday on campus at Coos Bay.
