Southwestern Oregon’s baseball team took the first of three games against Lane CC this past weekend. The Lakers took the opener in Coos Bay 4-3, but dropped two on the Titan’s home field in Eugene Saturday, 2-1 & 4-3. SWOCC (1-3, 4-16) next hosts Linn-Benton CC Friday, April 7, and then plays at LBCC in Albany on Saturday for a doubleheader. Southwestern’s softball team split a pair of NWAC games at Lower Columbia CC Friday. LC won the opener 6-3, but the Lakers got the second game 11-1 in five innings. On Saturday, SWOCC lost at Clackamas CC in Oregon City 6-3. This week, the Lakers host Clark College on Tuesday, and then hosts Centralia CC Saturday in a doubleheader in Coos Bay. Southwestern is in second place in the South Region 8-2, 18-5 overall. Centralia is in first at 6-0, 8-3.
