Visiting Clackamas CC (11-2, 19-7) downed Southwestern Oregon’s men 81-76 in an NWAC South Region battle between the top two basketball teams Saturday at Prosper Hall on the Laker Campus, Coos Bay. Second-place Southwestern (9-5, 17-10) has two games remaining on the regular season schedule, Wednesday, March 1st at third-place Linn-Benton CC (8-6, 13-14), Albany, and Saturday, March 4, at fifth-place Portland CC (7-7, 11-14). The Laker women lost their eighth-in-a-row Saturday to the Cougars 79-46. SWOCC plays at Linn-Benton CC Wednesday and at Portland CC Saturday to end the regular season. Southwestern’s baseball games at Clark College, Vancouver, WA, were cancelled due to the weather Friday & Saturday. The Lakers (3-1) are scheduled to play at Blue Mtn. CC, Pendleton, March 4 & 5. The Laker softball team swept through opponents Friday and Saturday at Clackamas CC, Oregon City. SWOCC downed Wenatchee Valley 10-0 & 12-1 Friday, and then on Saturday, downed Wentachee Valley 10-0, and swept Blue Mtn. CC 12-1 & 20-0. The Lakers (6-1) are scheduled to play at Everett CC, Friday, March 3, and then in the BC Invite at Bellevue CC, Saturday & Sunday.
