Southwestern Oregon’s baseball team opened the 2022 community college season with three-wins over visiting Gray’s Harbor in Coos Bay. The Lakers won Friday 6-5 (11) and 10-4 in the nightcap. On Saturday, Gray’s Harbor took the opener 6-5, but SWOCC won the second game 12-2. Southwestern (3-1) is scheduled to host Treasure Valley for four-games Friday & Saturday, March 4 & 5. SWOCC’s basketball teams played at Clackamas CC, Oregon City, Saturday. The women (2-11, 4-16) lost 94-65, but the men (6-7, 13-13) won 86-78. The Lakers host Clark College Saturday, March 5, women at noon, men at 2 p.m. Southwestern’s softball team won its own tournament. Saturday 9-1 over Treasure Valley and 10-0 over Chemeketa. On Sunday, 17-1 over Treasure Valley and 21-0 over Chemeketa. The Lakers (5-1) are scheduled to play at the Bellevue Invite Saturday, March 5 against Edmonds.
