Southwestern Oregon’s basketball teams dropped their final NWAC games of the 2022 season at Portland CC Saturday. The men lost 91-83 to finish in sixth place (7-9, 14-15) in the South Division. The Laker women fell 67-53 in their finale to finish (2-14, 4-19) in eighth place. Southwestern’s softball team had a good trip to the northeast over the weekend. The Lakers swept Blue Mtn. in Pendleton Friday 9-1 & 18-0. On Saturday, two more wins over Big Bend at Walla Walla, WA 14-3 & 12-3. Sunday it was two wins over Walla Walla 12-6 & 12-8. SWOCC (1-0, 14-2) is scheduled to play at Clackamas Saturday, March 19. The Laker baseball team got a split at Columbia Basin. On Saturday, SWOCC won the opener 3-0, but lost the second game 7-3. On Sunday, Southwestern lost the opener 11-6, but took the second game 10-8. The Lakers (8-4) are scheduled to play at Yakima Valley Saturday, March 19.
