SWOCC had a good showing at the Linfield Open in McMinnville this past weekend. Several Lakers achieved personal bests in their events, according to head coach Dan Neal. On the men’s side Cole Kreitzer placed 2nd in the Triple Jump where he had a PR with a jump of 41’10 ½ “ and jumped 19’ 9 ½” in the Long jump for 6th place. Wilson Hodge continues to improve in his Throwing events. Hodge threw a new PR of 140’ 2” in the Discus placing 8th and tied his PR in Shot at 46’ 4” placing 5th. Selmar Hutchins placed 4th in Javelin at 184’ 3” and was 8th in the Hammer with a throw of 131’ 2”. On the Women’s side Savanah Thurman improved her personal best in the Discus with a throw of 113’ 10” and also PR’ d in Shot with a throw of 35’ 3”. Hannah Smith placed 8th in the Long Jump with a 15’ 7” effort. She was also 12th in the Triple Jump at 32’ 10”.
