Southwestern Oregon’s baseball team beat Chemeketa 3-1 in Salem Saturday. The Lakers made it an NWAACC doubleheader sweep with a 4-2 win in the night cap. SWOCC’s doubleheader at Mt. Hood in Gresham Friday was postponed to Sunday due to rain. The Lakers’ regular season finale against Lower Columbia in Coos Bay Friday was postponed until Sunday due to rain. Southwestern swept Lower Columbia 6-5, 9-1 to finish the regular season in third place in the South Region with an 11-9 record, 28-15 overall. SWOCC track results from the Southern Regional Championships at Lane CC in Eugene this past weekend. Jasmine Meline placed 2nd in the 800 at 2:21. Kathryn Pitts placed 6th in the Long Jump at 16′ 2″ and was 7th in the Triple Jump at 33′ 10″. Nikki Puaa was 5th in Shot at 39′ 2″ and 5th in Discus with a 114′ 8″ throw. McKenzie DeVault placed 4th in Discus with a throw of 125′ 11″ and had a PR in Shot Put at 35′ 8″ but did not place. Rachael Huffman was 6th in Disc at 111′ 9″ and was 8th in Javelin with a 113′ 11 throw. On the Men’s side Zach Hammond was 2nd in the Steeple Chase aat 10:10. Chase Messerle made the Qualifying mark for the NWAACC Championships in the Pole Vault with a jump of 14′ 2″ and placed 7th in the event. Unfortunately, Paul Harlow pulled a hamstring and couldn’t compete in the pole vault. Eric Jordan was 4th in the Shot at 42′ 2″. Jovenn Pacheco was 7th in the Discus at 132′ 6 and was 7th in Shot at 39′ 1″. Brandon Gannon placed 7th in Triple Jump at 40′ 11″. Kyle Seals was 5th in Javelin at 162′ 6″.
