Southwestern Oregon’s softball team clinched the South Region championship of the NWAC with a doubleheader sweep of visiting Chemeketa Saturday, 23-0 (5) & 7-3, at Coos Bay. The second-ranked Lakers (21-3, 38-6) will next play in the 2022 NWAC Softball Championships, May 19-22, Spokane, WA. SWOCC’s baseball team ended the regular season with a split against Umpqua. On Saturday at Roseburg, UCC won the opener 7-1, but the Lakers took the second game 6-2. On Sunday at Coos Bay, SWOCC took the first game 13-9, but the Riverhawks got the second game 6-0. Southwestern ends the regular season 11-17 in the conference and 22-26 overall.
