Southwestern Oregon’s softball team won three-games and lost two at the 2024 NWAC Softball Tournament, Delta Park, Portland, Thursday & Friday. The Lakers won Thursday 10-2 over Chemeketa in the opener, but lost 8-4 to Wenatchee Valley in the second game. That put SWOCC in the Consolation Bracket Friday against Douglas. Southwestern won 6-5. The Lakers had another close game in a 2-1 win over Edmonds. However, Lower Columbia ended Southwestern’s (37-13) run with a 16-8 win over the Lakers. SWOCC’s track & field team heads to the NWAC Championships, May 20-21 at Mt. Hood, Gresham. Southwestern’s baseball team’s season ended in the NWAC North Super Regionals Friday & Saturday at Edmonds College. The Lakers beat Wenatchee Valley at Lynnwood, WA on Friday, 4-3. But lost to Edmonds, 5-2. On Saturday, SWOCC again fell to Edmonds, 7-6, ending Southwestern’s season at 27-26.
