Southwestern Oregon split a pair of NWAC baseball games against Olympic on Saturday in Washington State.  Olympic won the opener 4-3, but the Lakers got the second game 2-0.  On Sunday, SWOCC won 6-0.  Southwestern next plays at Chemeketa in Salem Friday and Saturday.

SWOCC Track Results for the Oregon Twilight Friday 5-5-17 – SWOCC’s Track results started on Friday with Lakers’s top sprinter Kuda Murasiranwa competing in the Oregon Twilight meet at Hayward Field. Murasiranwa competed in the 200 meters placing 5th at 22.31. And then he ran in the Men’s 100 Meters, one of the Oregon Twilight’s showcase events that was televised on the Pac 12 Chanel. Murasiranwa ran a 10.79 and Placed 2nd and was just .09 of a second off SWOCC’s school record. Results for Saturday at the Linfield Open 5-6-17 – Kuda Murasiranwa placed 2nd in the 100 with a 10.90 and anchored the 2nd place 4X100 Relay team that ran a 43.02. Other members of the 4 x 100 relay team were Anson Canecia, Drae Stark and Brian Hunt. Drae Stark ran a 15.65 in the 110 High Hurdles for 2nd place and placed 3rd in the Long Jump at 21’ 8” and 4th in the Triple Jump at 41’ 10”. Cole Kreutzer placed 2nd in the Long Jump with a personal best of 21’ 9” and was 3ed in the Triple Jump at 42’ 5”. Kiante Davis placed 5th in the Javelin with a throw of 162’ 3”. Chase Houck placed 8th in the Javelin at 161’ 5”. William Owens placed 8th in the 400 at 53.37. Women’s Results – Presley LeBlanc placed 3rd in the 200 meters at 26.55 and ran a season best in the 100 with a 12.91 placing 8th out of 40 competitors. LeBlanc anchored the Woman’s 4 X 100 Relay with Alex Ryan, Lexi Lofthouse and Aajua Brooks. The team ran a 50.10 for 5th place just getting edged out of 4th place by Clackamas CC that ran a 50.03. Alexa Ryan placed 7th in the Triple Jump with a jump of 34’ ¾ “. The Lakers will be at the NWAC Southern Region Championships hosted at Lane CC this Saturday and will finish the season at the NWAC Trach and Field Championships in Gresham on May 22-23 at Mt Hood Community College.
