Southwestern Oregon’s men won two-out-of-three at the Red Devil Classic Basketball Tournament, Longview, WA, this past weekend. The Lakers lost their opener to the host team Lower Columbia 72-63. On Saturday, SWOCC downed Olympic 112-82 and then capped the weekend with an 87-86 overtime win over Columbia Basin. Southwestern (5-1) plays Thursday, Nov. 30, at College of the Redwoods, Eureka, CA. SWOCC’s women competed at the CCC Thanksgiving Invitational, Oregon City but lost two-out-of-three. On Friday, host Clackamas beat the Lakers 79-71, Saturday Umpqua downed Southwestern 76-56, but Sunday SWOCC beat Bellevue 84-77. The Lakers (1-2) next play at Walla Walla Friday, Dec. 1, 6 p.m.
