Southwestern Oregon’s volleyball team fell 3-0 at Chemeketa in Salem Friday. On Saturday, the Lakers downed Clackamas 3-2 in Oregon City. SWOCC (1-4, 13-9) host Linn-Benton Friday, 6:30 p.m., and Lane on Saturday, 2 p.m., in Prosper Hall on the Coos Bay campus. Southwestern Oregon’s women’s soccer team tied visiting Clackamas 1-1 Saturday in Coos Bay. The Lakers (0-4-1, 0-6-1) host Chemeketa on Wednesday, Oxt. 2, 1:30 p.m. and play at Portland on Sunday, Oct. 6, 10:30 a.m. Southwestern Oregon’s women were 13th at the Ken Garland Cross Country Classic Saturday at St. Martins College in Lacey, WA. Daniela Vimbela led the Lakers with a 59th place finish 21:50.18 for 5K. SWOCC’s men were 11th in the 8K race. Shawn Ryan O’Dell led Southwestern Oregon in 80th place (29:51.84). The Lakers next run on Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Charles Bowles Invitational at Salem’s Bush Pasture Park.
