Kermit Walker was unable to break the World Record in the Triple Jump for his age group At Saturdays Prefontaine Masters Meet. High Wind conditions and a nagging injury a a negative affect on Walkers attempt. Walker will continue to train and try again at the masters Meet in Gresham this summer. There were several good marks achieved by Laker athletes, Paul Harlow is now the second highest Pole Vaulter in school history by vaulting an outstanding 15′ 4″, just 2 inches shy of the existing record held by Seth Courdell at 15′ 6″. Kylee Bruder High Jumped 5′ 2″ for a season Best. Nikki Puaa improved in her Shot Put to 40′ 6″. Puaa is on track to break the school record in the event that is 41′ 1 1/2″ held by Janette Colegrove set in 1985. McKenzie DeVault had a 10 foot improvement in her discus throw with a 127′ 5″ effort. The Lakers will be at Oregon City this weekend at the Cougar Open hosted by Clackamas CC.
