“WOW what a meet!” Southwestern Oregon Coast Dan Neal. The Southwestern Oregon CC Lakers made a great showing at the Lane Preview Meet Friday and Saturday in Eugene. On Day One Nikki Iaulualo-Puaa set a new school record in the Women’s Discus with a throw of 134’ 7” and also improved her mark in the Shot put with a 39’ 4 ½ “ effort. Jasmine Meline also improved her school record in the Women’s 1500 running a 4:59.08 she also improved her time in the 800 running a 2:24.4. She will focus on the 800 when the Lakers travel to Lewis and Clark next week and will attempt to set a school record in the event. Paul Harlow was the lone winner for the Lakers winning the Pole Vault with a jump of 14’ 6”. This was a tremendous feet considering he did it at Lane CC who are the Vaulting Powerhouse for the NWAACC. Everything went his way. He stayed relaxed and had a good time and made every height to that point. Harlow and Chase Messerle are coached in the vault by Steve Pucket and both should do very well at this year’s NWAACC Championships.
