Laker track report Coach Dan Neal. The Laker Track team only had one All-American this year but he was a Double All-American. Wilson Hodge, a graduate from Coquille high school, won the Men’s Shot put with the a season best of 47’ 9” and then came back a threw 138’ 10” and placed 2nd. Both placings gave Hodge All-American status. We had several athletes that were in position to be All-American but competitors in in lower placing during finals had marks that moved them ahead of our athletes. Grace Herman was in 3rd during Javelin and ended up in 4th and Savannah Thurman was 3rd in Discus going into finals and ended up in 5th place. Almost every member of the Lakers team had personal Bests. That’s all I could hope for during a Championship Meet. All the kids came through for the team. Wilson Hodge won Shot Put with a throw of 47’ 9”. His winning throw was also the best mark in the NWAC this season. Teammate Ridge Quitoriano placed 6th in the event with a throw of 44’ 1 ½ “. Selmar Hutchins placed 6th in Javelin at 180’ 0”. He also placed 8th in Discus at 122’ 2” and 8th in Shot Put at 42’ 9”. Cole Kreutzer was 5th in the 400 Meters with a time 50.53. Tyler Watts was 8th in the Long Jump at 22’ 1 ¾ “. Riley Greenfield placed 6th in the Men’s High Jump at 6’ 1 ½.
