Laker Cross Country running at the George Fox Classic
It was another good weekend for the SWOCC Cross Country team. Report from Coach Dan Neal. The Lakers ran at Willamette Mission State Park near Salem. The event was hoisted by George Fox University. Although we are a couple runners short to do well in the team competition our individual efforts have been very good. Brad Ferner placed 14th running a 27:09 for the 5 mile course followed by David Flores who ran a 27:35 for 28th place and Jesus De Leon placing 31st at 27:39. Bringing up the rest of the team score was Mason Smith at 59th with a time of 29:00 and Austin Hutchins running a 29:25 for 69th. The Lakers scored 153 points and placed 7th. The Women’s team only ran 4 athletes due to injuries and was led by Alexis Crellin who ran a 22:06 for 49th place followed by Kennedy Pendergrass at 23:25. The third runner for the Lakers was Stephanie Gouveia running a 24:04. The Lakers will travel to Oregon City this weekend to run in the Mike Hodges Invitational hosted by Clackamas Community College.
