Tackling the Pittum Loop Hazards, Aug. 28

City of North Bend release – Outer Limits Construction has successfully cleared the underbrush on the west side of U.S. Highway 101, especially around the Pittum Loop area. This significant move is aimed at reducing wildfire risks. A big thank you to the Office of the Oregon State Fire Marshal for their $250,000 community wildfire risk reduction grant that funded this initiative. Quick Fact: Firefighters tackled ten brush fires in this area last year. The transformation is remarkable! And to ensure the area remains maintained, the North Bend City Council has greenlit the purchase of a grant-funded Cat Skid Steer and Brushcutter. Up next: Removal of tires, trash, and debris. Addressing a few hazardous trees. Collaborating with community partners to eliminate ivy and other invasives. A big shoutout to everyone for their patience during the Pittum Loop closure. Together, we’re making North Bend safer and greener!
