“Teddy Roosevelt’s Oregon Roadshow,” a live performance by historical recreator Joe Wiegand, returns to Oregon next week for a four-day tour of schools, museums, and historical societies across Oregon on May 19-22. Wiegand will speak about Roosevelt’s larger-than-life career history. The author, naturalist, explorer, soldier, historian, conservationist, and politician served as the 26th president of the United States. His many accomplishments include creating five national parks, such as Crater Lake in Oregon in 1902. The May 19-22 tour is organized by the Oregon Historical Society (OHS) and sponsored by Wells Fargo. Wiegand and OHS Executive Director Kerry Tymchuk hit the road next week for presentations in Brownsville, Dallas, Newberg, Tillamook, Roseburg, Rickreall and Portland, among other cities.
