The City of Coos Bay Public Works Department will be closing the north bound lane of 6th Avenue between E and D Street. The north lane of 6th Avenue between E and D Street will be closed while the abutting trees are removed the week of January 21st. It is anticipated the work will take four (4) days to complete; therefore, 6th Avenue north bound lane will be open in the evening after 4:30 pm and closed throughout the day from 7:00 am – 4:30 pm. The purpose of the road closure is to allow city maintenance crews and Arborist access to the eastside hill abutting 6th Avenue to clear vegetation for the upcoming Safe Routes to School project.
