The City of Coos Bay has authorized the contractor Munitor Construction who is demolishing the old McAuley Hospital to temporarily close Commercial Avenue and 8th Street which abuts the property. The purpose of both road closures is to protect pedestrians and the motoring public while the structure is being demolished. Once the building is reduced to rubble and access is safe, road closures will be lifted. Road closure will be from April 16th – April 21st, however Commercial Avenue could be back open sooner depending on demolition progress.
