The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office would like to warn citizens of a door-to-door vacuum sales scam. Quinn Ellis, age 45 of Roseburg, is contacting citizens at their homes claiming to be a salesperson for Q and A Distributing, a legitimate business. He is conducting a demonstration of a Kirby vacuum cleaner and making a sales pitch. Following the demo, Ellis makes a sales offer and collects payment. However, he never delivers the vacuum cleaner. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is attempting to locate and arrest Ellis on theft charges. He is a white male adult approximately 5’10”/250 lbs with brown hair and blue eyes. Anyone with knowledge as to his whereabouts is requested to contact the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office at 541-440-4471. Remember, it is never advisable to provide payment to an unknown person for a service or product that they cannot provide to you immediately. Residents should be very cautious of door-to-door salespersons who wish to enter your home. Beware of high pressure sales tactics and remember that you have the right to say no.
