The Third and Central Green Parking Lot project is currently underway in downtown Coos Bay. For the next phase of construction, the contractor will be commencing work on new curb and gutter along the West side of S. Third Street. This phase will require the closure of the southbound lane of S. Third Street between the intersections of Central and Anderson avenues. The City has contracted with Knife River Materials for the construction of this project. It is anticipated they will begin this phase October 23, with a construction schedule through the second week of November. Please pardon the dust while these improvements are occurring, and we also ask that you follow all posted signage and proceed with caution when driving through any construction zone. Working hours will be 7 a.m. – 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. On Wednesdays, to minimize impacts to the Farmer’s Market, only light duty construction will occur.
