The brush fire on Emerald St July 13th was accidentally caused by a person using a weed burner. Some unintended vegetation caught fire and spread quickly. Investigators were called to E. 17th Ave early on the morning of July 14th for smoke from an apartment. This fire was intentionally set and further investigation has been turned over to Eugene Police. A second early morning fire on 35th St in Springfield was ruled accidental and caused by smoking materials falling and igniting a piece of furniture.
