Three Killed North of Molalla, Oct. 24

On October 22, 2016 at about 9:15PM, OSP Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a two vehicle crash on Highway 211 near milepost 18 (just north of Molalla). Preliminary information indicates a 1985 Toyota Supra was traveling southbound on Highway 211 at a high rate of speed when it failed to negotiate a corner. The Toyota slid sideways into the corner where it was “t-boned” by a northbound 1998 Buick sedan. The driver of the Toyota, Joseph D FERRIS, age 25, of Clackamas, was pronounced deceased on scene. His passenger, Dylan O SAMS, age 25, of Salem, was also pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Buick, Mark A COLE, age 55, of Eagle Creek, received serious injuries. His front passenger, Tina R COLE, age 51, of Eagle Creek was also seriously injured. A 3 year old male passenger was also seriously injured. The fourth passenger, Cayla COLE, age 19, of Eagle Creek, was critically injured. All occupants of this vehicle were taken via air ambulance to Portland area hospitals. Cayla COLE died of her injuries on the morning of October 23rd while being treated.
