Tillamook Cheese VW Buses Recovered, July 16

Three custom-orange painted vintage Volkswagen buses on a promotional tour in California for Tillamook Cheese, were recovered Monday night, July 13, after they were stolen over the weekend from motel parking lot near Sacramento.  The buses are valued at $100,000 each.  Police in Manteca, CA say they recovered the buses from a rented Storage locker in Cooperopolis around 8:30 p.m.  Two suspects were taken into custody Tuesday night.  Brian Lancaster and Ryan Monaco, both of Sacramento, were being held for investigation of auto theft and other charges.  The Storage locker was rented by one of the suspects.  A truck and trailer used to haul the buses on the “Loaf Love Tour”, were also stolen but found burned out.  The Tillamook County Creamery Association, parent organization to Tillamook Cheese, offered a $10,000 reward for the safe recovery of three buses, but police did not release any information on what led them to the Storage facility.
