U.S. Senator Ron Wyden and U.S. Congresswoman Val Hoyle, along with Oregon International Port of Coos Bay officials, took a White House advisor on a tour of the proposed site for the Port of Coos Bay’s Pacific Coast Intermodal Port Project Saturday. Port officials are hoping to land a $2.3 billion dollars shipping terminal on the North Spit that could take advantage of the Port’s West Coast location, as well as local air service, rail service and highway access. Federal officials are expected to announce within a month if the Port is the recipient of a $900 million federal Mega Grant for the project.
