Transient Tax Fails in Curry Co., Nov. 5

An effort to establish a transient room tax in Curry Co. failed 52.5% to 47.5% by voters participating in the Tuesday, Nov. 3 mail-in-vote. The county was seeking a six-percent room tax which would have gone for tourism promotion and the county’s Road Fund. A similar attempt in Coos County also failed before voters.
