Fatal Fire in Coquille
Two people are dead, a child was flown to a trauma hospital in Portland and an adult male was taken to Coquille Valley Hospital with burn injuries following a late night fire at an RV park in Coquille early Wednesday morning, June 25.  According to a news release from Coos Co. District Attorney R. Paul Frasier, the names of the two victims have not been released pending positive identification and notification of next of kin.  Officials with the Oregon State Fire Marshall’s Office and the Oregon State Police Arson Unit were requested to investigate the cause of the fire at the Riversedge RV Park, Space 39.  When firefighters first arrived on the scene at 1:16 a.m., they found the travel trailer engulfed in flames.  A 59-year old occupant escaped the trailer, and neighbors rescued the child, but the fire was too intense for any other rescue attempt.

Fire Victims Identified
Two young brothers from Roseburg were killed in an early morning trailer fire at an RV park in Coquille Wednesday morning, June 25.  According to Coos County District Attorney R. Paul Frasier, arson investigators for the Oregon State Police and the State Fire Marshall’s Office were assisting with the investigation into the cause of the fire.  A preliminary report indicated the two boys, 13-year old Christopher Thorp and eight-year old Grayson Thorp, died of smoke inhalation.  A seven-year old boy, Caden Templeton, Coquille, was rescued from the fire by neighbors.  He was life-flighted to a trauma hospital in Portland where he was listed in Critical Condition.  The fire was reported about 1 a.m. at the Riversedge RV Park, space 39.  Fifty-nine year old Virginia Jennings the occupant of the trailer, and the boys’ grandmother, escaped the flames.  She was treated and released from Coquille Valley Hospital.
