Unique Opportunity to Volunteer and Live on a Coastal Estuary in Southern Oregon, June 19

The South Slough Reserve is looking for a visitor services host to provide essential support to the Reserve. Charleston, Ore. —South Slough Reserve is recruiting for a part time, on-site volunteer with an RV. In this volunteer role you’ll welcome people visiting the Reserve while also exploring and living in a quiet, natural setting. Located on the South Slough inlet of the Coos Estuary, the Reserve manages nearly 7,000 acres of open water, wetlands, rivers, and forests as an essential resource for learning and exploration. The South Slough Reserve Visitor Services Host engages with people from the local community and visitors from across the country, while helping to maintain the integrity of the Reserve facilities. The Host acts as an ambassador to ensure that everyone has access to enjoying the unique, protected nature Reserve. In return for volunteering 25 hours per week the host receives place to live and bring their RV with access to full hook ups and limited Wi-Fi access. Additional benefits include site proximity to beaches and parks, engagement with science, education, and stewardship staff, and a flexible schedule to accommodate time for exploring the local area.
