SWOCC physicist and NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador Doctor Aaron Coyner will speak at 3 pm on Tuesday, July 2 at the North Bend Public Library. This program has been billed as “Doctor Coyner Explains the Universe,” but is now titled, “A Universe of Exploration: Humanity’s Past, Present and Future in the Cosmos.” This presentation touches on the NBPL’s summer reading program theme, A Universe of Stories, which celebrates the 50th anniversary of the first humans landing on the Moon on July 20, 1969. His program will look at the relationship humans have forged with the sky through our stories, beliefs, and scientific discoveries. Coyner will also be at the North Bend Public Library on July 6 for a presentation of a clip from Chasing the Moon, a PBS/American Experience documentary looking back at the first walk on the moon.
