Unlawful Possession and Manufacture of Marijuana, July 23

News release from CBPD. The Coos Bay Police Department had received information of possible City code violations occurring at a commercial P7210016building located at 712 South 2nd Street in Coos Bay. While looking into the code violations, city personnel received information that there was possibly a large marijuana grow located there as well. On July 21, 2015, Officers from the Coos Bay Police Department contacted Joshua A. Galbraith and Carrie Jo Galbraith at that location and inquired about the reported marijuana grow at the location. Joshua Galbraith stated there was marijuana grow inside the building, and that he was a registered grower through OMMP; however, he had not registered 712 South 2nd Street as his grow site. A records check through the DHS OMMP office confirmed that the address was not listed as a current Medical Marijuana grow site. The officers asked for permission to inspect the grow site to determine the number of plants currently being grown there. Both Joshua and Carrie Galbraith allowed the officers into the building where they discovered a large marijuana grow. Detectives from the South Coast Interagency Narcotics Team (SCINT) were contacted to assist with processing the operation in which over 500 adult and 200 juvenile marijuana plants were located and seized along with several pounds of dried marijuana. P7210018Joshua and Carrie Galbraith are being referred to the Coos County District Attorney’s Office on the charges of unlawful possession and manufacture of marijuana.
