A new date for the Bill Dellinger Invitational and appearances in Arizona and California highlight the 2016 Oregon cross country schedule, as announced by head coach Robert Johnson. “Our goal was to create a schedule that will challenge and prepare our teams for success at the Pac-12 and national championships,” said Johnson. “We are also very excited to move the Dellinger Invitational back to Springfield Country Club. The community there has always been very supportive.” The Ducks will open the season with the 11th annual Bill Dellinger Invitational on Sept. 16. The Dellinger returns to Springfield for the first time since 2013. Oregon will then head to the Washington Invitational in Seattle on Oct. 1, before wrapping up the regular season at the Pre-Nationals Invitational Oct. 15 in Terre Haute, Ind. The postseason gets underway with the Pac-12 Championships Oct. 28 in Tucson. The NCAA West Regional meet will be Nov. 11 in Sacramento, Calif., and the season culminates with the NCAA Championships Nov. 19 in Terre Haute. The men will be led by three-time defending NCAA champion Edward Cheserek, who became the first man in NCAA history to win three consecutive titles last year in Louisville, Ky.
