The Oregon men’s basketball team opens play on its tour of Spain on Tuesday morning without the services of Dillon Brooks, who is recovering from foot surgery. The Ducks already know plenty about their all-Pac-12 junior leading scorer, though. The four-game schedule in Spain, which begins Tuesday in Madrid, will be about seasoning for the team’s impressive cast of newcomers as the UO men look to build chemistry for their Pac-12 title defense in 2016-17. The Ducks travelled to Spain on Sunday, and will play Tuesday and Wednesday in Madrid. The third game of the tour is scheduled for Friday in Valencia, and it wraps up next Tuesday in Barcelona. In between will be a number of cultural stops, including the Royal Palace of Madrid and the largest aquarium in Europe, in Valencia. The Ducks are scheduled to return from Spain on Aug. 31. Their 2016-17 opener will be against Army in Matthew Knight Arena on Nov. 11, and they open Pac-12 play at home against UCLA and USC the last week of December. Tour of Spain Game Schedule: Tuesday, Aug. 23, Madrid All-Stars at Madrid, 10 a.m. PDT; Wednesday, Aug. 24, Madrid All-Stars at Madrid, 10 a.m. PDT; Friday, Aug. 26, Valencia All-Stars at Valencia, 11:30 a.m. PDT; Tuesday, Aug. 30, Tarragona at Barcelona, 10:30 a.m. PDT.

Ducks in Spain
A more focused effort in the second half led Oregon to a 109-88 victory over the Madrid All-Stars, as the Ducks opened their tour of Spain on Tuesday. Six players scored in double figures for the Ducks, who shot 54 percent from the field. Sophomore Tyler Dorsey led Oregon with 19 points. Senior Dylan Ennis and junior Kavell Bigby-Williams each added 16, while senior Chris Boucher and freshman Keith Smith both contributed 12. Freshman Payton Pritchard scored 10. Bigby-Williams nearly had a double-double with nine rebounds, while Ennis had seven boards and Smith grabbed six. Pritchard and Ennis led the team with four assists, while Jordan Bell had the Ducks’ two blocked shots. The Ducks and the Madrid All-Stars will play again Wednesday at 10 a.m. Pacific.
