Oregon’s baseball team won two-out-of-three from visiting California in Pac-12 league play at PK Park, Eugene. The Ducks lost the opener on Friday, 13-1, but came back and beat the Golden Bears on Saturday, 5-1, and Sunday, 10-3 to win the series. Oregon (4-2, 13-6) hosts Arizona for three-games beginning Friday, March 22, 5:05 p.m. Oregon State’s baseball team took two-out-of-three from Utah at Salt Lake City. The Beavers won the opener Friday, 7-5, won Saturday, 8-1, but fell on Sunday, 14-11. OSU (2-1, 17-2) has a non-league game at Portland on Tuesday, March 19th, 5:30 p.m., Joe Etzel Field, on ESPN+.

Oregon’s softball team took two-out-of-three from Utah in a Pac-12 series at Salt Lake City. The Ducks won the opener on Friday 20-3 (5), lost on Saturday, 10-7, but came back and won on Sunday, 5-1. Oregon (4-2, 16-10) has Arizona State in town on Friday, March 22, for three Pac-12 games at Jane Sander Stadium, Eugene. Oregon State was in the Desert and won two-out-of-three from Arizona State. On Friday, the Beavers won 5-3, Saturday, 10-5, but lost on Sunday, 5-1. OSU (3-3, 14-15) has a non-league game against Grand Canyon, at Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, March 18, 2 p.m., ESPN+.
The Ducks host the Oregon Preview (March 22-23) next weekend at Hayward Field
UO release – CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon track and field team got its outdoor season started Saturday at the OSU PNW Invite highlighted by wins from Shelby Moran and Isabella Nilsen. Moran was the Ducks’ first winner of the day—and outdoor season—with a 64.27m/210-10 to win the hammer. The reigning Pac-12 champion in the event put together a consistent series with all six tosses within three feet of one another. Moran beat the nearest competitor by more than 20 feet and would have won Saturday’s meet with any of her six marks. In the women’s pole vault, Nilsen cleared 4.05m/13-3.5 to take the top spot. The clearance was also a new outdoor personal best for the Bellevue, Wash., native. With the make, she is tied with teammate Emily Fitzsimmons as the No. 9 performer on the program’s outdoor top-10 list. The Ducks added a trio of runner-up results in the outdoor opener, posting second-place efforts from Austin Milton and Kohana Nakato in the javelin and J Kai Yamafuji in the men’s pole vault. Milton, in his collegiate debut, led a 2-5-6 finish for the UO men in the javelin followed by Zach Young and Gavin Korkeakoski, respectively. Milton wasted no time to make an impact with a 68.30m/224-1 measure on his first attempt and led after the first round. Young, a transfer from Linfield, registered a lifetime best of 62.45m/204-10 on his final throw. Freshman Kobe Lawrence, competing unattached, posted a day’s best of 18.70m/61-4.25 to for second place in the shot put. OSU release – CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State reopened the Whyte Track and Field Complex with a school record in the 4×100-meter relay leading a slew of strong performances at the OSU PNW Invite. “Stadium looked great, the weather was fantastic and we had our best opener as a track team ever. I think the women really fed off the great energy of the crowd and took advantage of a great day to post some huge marks,” head coach Louie Quintana said. “Very excited about the 4×100 record and the progress of the sprint and hurdle crew. Adael and Kate ran marks that will traditionally get them into the first round in the 400m hurdles – which was an awesome start. We were great in the throws too. Jade hit a nice early season Discus throw and Mare was simply awesome in the Jav! The 1500m in the post Kaylee and Grace era as well as the 3K showed us that the train for distance running at OSU is going to keep on moving. Fantastic day by all.” The highlight of the day came in the 4×100. The relay team of Lizzie Hatton, Abby Buckley, Jada Hurley and Delaney Bahn posted a 45.97, the fourth-best time in the country based on results at the time and a school record in the event. The throwers, most making their season-debuts outdoors, provided a few highlights as they got started. Maryann Ackerman continued climbing the Oregon State top 10 lists with a 50.33m/165-1 mark in the javelin to jump to no. 3. Katie Gelston moved to no. 5 all-time in the discus with a 49.26m/161-7 throw. Returning first-team All-American Jade Whitfield won the event with a solid, season-opening 53.12m/174-3. Kate Sorensen made her long-awaited debut in orange and black in the 400-meter hurdles and did not disappoint. The grad transfer came from behind to pass three runners in the homestretch and lock in a 59.10 finish, third-best all-time. Sorensen also closed the day with a 53.5-second leg to close the 4×400 meter relay. She combined with Hurley, Adael Scatena and Riley Patera to run a 3:46.28 for the third-best relay at Oregon State. Scatena was her usual excellent self in the 100 hurdles, moving into the no. 5 spot at Oregon State with a 13.90 and winning the race. Hurley picked up a win in the 100 meters and placed second behind teammate Bahn in the 200 meters. The distance team had solid performances throughout, highlighted by the debut of Molly Latincsics. The Sacremento State transfer immediately jumped into the Oregon State Top 10 in the 3,000 meters at no. 6 with a 9:45.35 while Delaney Griffin snuck into the tenth spot with a 9:52.35. In the 1,500 meters, Abigail Pradere posted a 4:21.95 to come in just behind her personal best but win the race. Sage Brooks joined the all-time top 10 with a 4:26.17 while Kate Laurent’s PB of 4:27.32 would have made the no. 10 spot if not for Brooks. Mia Fowler recorded an outdoor personal best to take second in the pole vault. Her 3.45m/11-3.75 leap was a more than a foot higher than her previous outdoor best.

Oregon’s men won the 2024 Pac-12 Basketball Tournament at Las Vegas, NV and clinched the conference’s automatic spot in this year’s NCAA Basketball Tournament. Seeded No. 11, the Ducks (23-11) will play sixth seed South Carolina (26-7) in the first round of the Midwest Region, Pittsburgh, PA, Thursday, March 21, 1 p.m., on TNT. The winner faces the winner of No. 3 seed Creighton (23-9) and No. 14 seed Akron (24-10) on Saturday, March 23.
The Road to Cleveland Starts in Corvallis
OSU release – CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State will host the first and second round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2018-19 after being selected as a no. 3 seed in the Albany 1 region by the selection committee on Sunday. The Beavers will square off with No. 14 Eastern Washington on Friday or Saturday to open the tournament. If they advance, the Beavs will battle the winner of No. 6 Nebraska and No. 11 Texas A&M on Sunday or Monday. Dates will be updated in this story and on social media as soon as they are available. Every game of the 2024 NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship will be broadcast on the ESPN family of networks. Oregon State is a three-seed for the first time since 2015 when OSU hosted for the first time in school history. It is the Beavs’ first time with a top-three seed since 2016-17, when they were a no. 2. The Beavs will enter the tournament with a 24-7 record after finishing fourth in the Pac-12 with a 12-6 record in conference play. Six of Oregon State’s seven losses were to top ten teams and the Beavs own a 6-6 record this year against AP Top 25 foes. OSU was picked 10th by Pac-12 coaches and ninth by league media in the conference preseason poll before finishing fourth and earning AP rankings as high as no. 9. Head coach Scott Rueck was named the Pac-12 Coach of the Year by conference media while Timea Gardiner, Talia von Oelhoffen and Raegan Beers earned All-Pac-12 honors from the coaches. It was the Beavs’ first season with three all-league players since 2016 and Gardiner also earned sixth player of the year honors. All-session tickets go on sale on Sunday, March 17 at 6 p.m. PT.
