Oregon State’s basketball season ended in the first round of the men’s NCAA Basketball Tournament Friday in Oklahoma City, 75-67 to Virginia Commonwealth University.

Oregon State’s women beat St. Bonaventura 69-49 in the NCAA Basketball Tournament Sunday to advance to the “Sweet 16.” The Beavers (30-4) next play DePaul Saturday in the Dallas Regionals.

Oregon hosts Fresno State tonight, 6 p.m., in a WNIT second round game at Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene.

Oregon State dropped its first two Pac-12 softball games this past weekend at Utah in Salt Lake City. The Utes won Saturday 7-5 and Sunday 14-6 (6). The two are scheduled to play again today at 11 a.m. Oregon opened the Pac-12 season with two wins at Washington in Seattle. The Ducks took the opener 7-2 on Saturday. On Sunday, the Ducks won 11-6. The two play again today at 7 p.m.

Oregon State’s baseball team opened the Pac-12 season with a three-game sweep of visiting Arizona State in Corvallis this past weekend. The Beavers won Friday 3-2, Saturday 12-2, and Sunday7-3. In Eugene, Utah took the series from the Ducks. Utah won Friday 4-1, Saturday Oregon won 9-5, but the Utes took the series on Sunday, 2-1.
