The Duck had more pushups than Coach Prime did in taking his sunglasses off at Autzen Stadium, Eugene, Saturday, as Oregon’s No. 10 football team throttled the visiting No. 19 Colorado Buffaloes 42-6 before a national TV audience. It was the Pac-12 opener for both schools in the final season of the “Conference of Champions.” Make no doubt, Oregon controlled this game from the get-go before a sold-out crowd and 30 recruits on the sidelines considering playing for the Ducks in the future. Four-minutes and 45-seconds into the contest, Oregon was on the scoreboard with a three-yard run by Noah Whittington. Ten plays, 72-yards. Thirteen nothing after one, 35-0 at the half and 42-zip entering the fourth. The Ducks had 522-yards of offense to 199 for Colorado. Rushing was dominant for Oregon, 240 to Boulder’s group with 40. Up next for Oregon (1-0, 4-0) is a trip to the Farm to play Stanford, Saturday, Sept. 30, 3:30 p.m., Pac-12 Networks.
