US Coast Guard Sector North Bend is known for its rescues at sea and assistances along the Oregon Coast, but on Saturday night, Feb. 29, a helicopter crew went an extra step by assisting a young girl injured in a vehicle accident in Coquille. The six-year old was flown over 150-miles to Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland “to receive the highest level of care,” according to reports.
