Restrooms at H.B. Van Duzer Forest State Scenic Corridor, a rest area located on Oregon Route 18/the Salmon River Highway 15 miles northeast of Lincoln City, will be periodically closed for maintenance over the next two weeks. Restrooms on the southern side of OR-18 will be closed beginning this Thursday, Dec. 12, with an anticipated reopening on Sunday, Dec. 15. The north restrooms will still be open during this time to accommodate travelers. Restrooms on the northern side of the highway will close on Thursday, Dec. 19 and reopen on Sunday, Dec. 22. The temporary closures are necessary in order to give Oregon Parks and Recreation Department staff time to repair the restroom floors. The remainder of the park, including picnic areas, will remain open throughout the work period. The total cost of the project will be about $1,200. Special notices for Oregon state parks, including closure and construction information, are available online at www.oregonstateparks.org.
