News release from the Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. On the evening of January 27th, 2016 at about 10:48 PM, the Coos County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a missing person from the North Coos River area. Ms. Tanya Sigloh of Coos Bay reported that her 20 year old daughter, Emily Sigloh had left a residence on North Coos River on the afternoon of the 27th at about 12:30 PM to go into Coos Bay and had not shown up at her destination as of 10:30 PM. A report was taken with Ms. Sigloh’s vehicle information that she was last seen leaving in and deputies passed that information onto other law enforcement agencies in the county to be on the lookout for the vehicle and check the welfare of Ms. Emily Sigloh if found. At about 8:00 PM Thursday morning, Jan. 28, Coos County 911 Center received a report of a vehicle in the river near mile post 4 on North Coos River. Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies, Oregon State Police, Coos Bay Fire responded to the area. A vehicle matching the description of Ms. Sigloh’s vehicle, a black 1996 Honda Accord was found upside down in the river. Divers from North Bend Fire responded and were able to check the vehicle and confirm there was no one in it. Sheriff’s Deputies checked the banks of the river. Emily Sigloh’s body was discovered Thursday afternoon with assistance from US Coast Guard, Sheriff’s Marine Deputies, US Fish and Wildlife who all brought boats to assist in the search. The Oregon State Police is the lead agency in regards to the motor vehicle crash.
