Monday morning, July 12, just after 4:00am Lane County Sheriff’s Deputies and personnel from Lane Fire Authority responded to the report of a vehicle fire in the 25000blk of Cheney Dr. in Veneta. A pickup with a camper shell caught fire while two people were asleep inside. The occupants woke up and were able to escape without injury. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
