Veteran Services Grant Program, Sept. 29

The Oregon Department of Veterans’ Affairs is pleased to announce it is now accepting proposals for a new round of Veteran Services Grant funding aimed at expanding and enhancing services available to veterans in Oregon communities. The 2021 Legislature approved $938,118 to fund eligible proposals that provide direct services to veterans. The Veteran Services Grant Program awards one-time grants to organizations up to $250,000 through a competitive grant process. Eligible proposals must provide direct services, at no cost to veterans, that help improve outcomes in areas such as health or behavioral health care, housing security, employment opportunities or stability, education and training opportunities, transportation accessibility and availability, or other critical services within a community. Organizations eligible to apply for this grant must be designated as a nonprofit or veteran organization, or a tribal, regional or local government. In 2020, a total of 20 organizations received grant awards ranging from $10,000 to $102,179 to offer direct services to veterans in their communities. ODVA is committed to providing equitable access to services and supports for all veterans. We encourage proposals that serve all veterans, including historically and continuously underrepresented racial and ethnic groups, women, individuals with disabilities, and LGBTQ veterans. The strength of ODVA lies in the diversity of our partners and their work, as we work together to serve the veteran community throughout Oregon. The 2021 Veteran Services Grant application window closes at 11:59 p.m. November 17, 2021. Please join Jacqueline Kemp, ODVA’s Grants Coordinator, on October 13, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. for a webinar to hear more details and have an opportunity to ask questions about this grant.
