“A waste water spill occurred this morning November 25th near the City of Coos Bay Waste Water Pump Station No. 4 located at 299 S. 10th Street. A break in the force main below the ground caused a small amount of sewage to leak to the street surface, but it did not reach state waters. That pump station has been taken out of service until workers can perform an emergency repair. Workers disinfected the area, hosed down the surrounding area, and removed the wash-down water. The overflow was reported to the Oregon Emergency Response System (OERS) of the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) in accordance with established regulations.
