Waterfront
North Coos Waterfront swept an American Legion baseball doubleheader against the visiting Roseburg Lions Monday, 9-8 (10) & 9-3, at Clyde Allen Field in North Bend. The Waterfront finishes the ‘A’ Area North League in first place with a 12-4 league record and 19-12 overall. North Coos Waterfront hosts Three Rivers at 4 & 6 p.m., in a non-league game.
South Coast All Stars
With their backs up against the wall facing elimination on the final day of the Southern Oregon State 13 & Under Babe Ruth Baseball Tournament, the South Coast All-Stars came back and won the championship 7-6 over Umpqua Valley. Before meeting Umpqua Valley in the title game, the South Coast All-Stars had to defeat Klamath Fall for the second time in two days. They did, 17-7. With the win, the South Coast All-Stars qualified for the Pacific Northwest Regional Tournament in Helena, Montana, beginning Aug. 1.
