On February 26, 2018 at approximately 5:05 PM a member from Siletz Neighborhood Watch contacted the Sheriff’s Office regarding a report from concerned citizens of a suspicious male walking around town in Siletz. The report indicated a young adult white male was walking through various neighborhoods asking for specific people and a dog. One witness reported the male had a concerning bulge in his waist line. Witnesses not recognizing the suspicious male or persons he was asking about reported the activity to members of the Siletz Neighborhood Watch which immediately reported the activity to Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. At approximately 6:00 PM Deputy Parsons located a male matching the description of the suspicious male in the Shasta Court neighborhood in Siletz. During the contact Deputy Parsons found Devan LaFontaine age 23 of Otis was in possession of a concealed 9mm semi automatic handgun, which was in his waistband. Devan was arrested and lodge at the Lincoln County Jail for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. His bail was set at $15,000.00.
