The Coos County Extension Service is sponsoring a Whole Grains Video Contest. This competition, a collaboration with Bob’s Red Mill® of Milwaukie, OR, is designed to encourage the use of whole grains in our daily diets. Students are asked to create a 2-minute video showing them cooking a recipe which contains a whole grain. Suitable recipes can be found at the healthy recipes website www.foodhero.org. Every family that submits a video will receive an assortment of whole grains just for entering, and one family will be selected to have their video filmed by a professional video production company for use in promoting the use of whole grains. The competition is open to all students in the area, whether they are home-schooled or attend a public or private school. Deadline for submission of the video is November 14, 2014. For more information, or details on how to submit a video, contact Cindy Peterson at the Extension Service, 541-572-5263 or cindy.peterson@oregonstate.edu.
