Plan to join the Yachats Academy and the Village of Yachats in celebrating the Winter Solstice Bonfire. There will be food and music. This annual event takes place on Saturday, December 21, 4:00 PM in the picnic shelter behind the Yachats Commons, W. 4th Street and Highway 101, Yachats. The Bonfire will be lit at 4:30 PM or as soon as it is dark enough. Tasty treats will be provided by the Yachats Ladies Club and the Yachats Lion’s Club will provide hot chocolate, mulled cider and coffee. There is no charge for the Bonfire celebration, but all donations will be shared with the participating nonprofit organizations. Following the Bonfire, the Friends of the Yachats Commons Foundation is sponsoring a homemade chili (meat and vegetarian) and cornbread meal in the multipurpose room.
